Supporting Partners

Our supporting partners—leaders in affordable housing, co-operative development, and community building—came together to create an innovative approach to preserving and expanding affordable housing in New Brunswick.

Saint John Land Bank was created to obtain title to vacant and derelict properties in Saint John, New Brunswick, with the objective of repurposing these properties as a diverse housing mix, green spaces, and development projects that contribute to the revitalization of the City of Saint John. The Land Bank has played a crucial role in the creation of the land trust co-op steering committee by providing a small grant and enabling this steering committee to apply for additional grant funding through them to operationalize the model.

The Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada (CHF Canada) is the national voice for housing co-operatives in Canada. CHF Canada advocates for the continued support of the federal government to sustain and expand co-op housing across the country. Such advocacy efforts have highlighted the importance of co-op housing.
